Perry Food Bank

Perry Morrice Shaftsburg Emergency Relief Council

Serving residents in Perry, Morrice and Shaftsburg since 1982, the Perry Food Bank wants everyone in our community to have access to safe, nutritious food. Located at Perry City Hall (lower level, east entrance nearest Polly Street), we are an independently-run non-profit organization.

If you or someone you know can use assistance with food, rent, utility bills, or medication please call 517-625-6155 extension 6 to leave a message. Our team of dedicated volunteers will schedule a personal, confidential visit to the Food Bank, based on our client’s schedules and needs.

You can also leave a message on the Perry Food Bank Facebook Page and a staff member will coordinate a time to visit the Food Bank.

Donations of non-perishable, non-expired food items in good condition are always appreciated – bins are located at Carl’s Supermarket and at Spalding Insurance.  Donations of personal care items, household cleaning supplies, laundry detergents and paper products are particularly helpful.

Monetary donations can be sent to PO Box 783, Perry, MI  48872.

As an all-volunteer non-profit organization, the Perry Food Bank is committed to providing services to Perry, Morrice and Shaftsburg residents in a friendly and non-judgmental atmosphere.  Our residents can expect to:

  •  Be treated with respect and compassion at all times.
  •  Receive food and personal care items free of charge as our budget allows.
  •  Receive food that is safe to eat.
  • Receive food and services no matter their race, family status, gender, disability, religious belief, or sexual preference.
  • Not have to give anything or take part in any religious or other organizational activities in order to receive services.
  • Not have to take any food items that do not meet their dietary needs or religious beliefs.
  • Have their personal information kept secure and receive assistance in confidence.

In turn, we ask that our clients provide proof of residency in Perry, Morrice, or Shaftsburg to access the Food Bank.  Residents can visit the Food Bank once a month or less frequently on an “as-needed” basis throughout the year.

We can also provide contacts and resource information to people who live outside of our service area; contact us via our Facebook page for more information:  https://www.facebook.com/PerryFoodBank.
