Pursuant to Section 5.3(b) of the Perry City Charter, I as City Clerk am calling a Special Ordinance – Open Forum meeting at the request of the Mayor. This Special Ordinance Open Forum meeting will be held at the Perry City Hall, 203 W. Polly St., Perry, in the council chambers on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at 7:00 pm.
The purpose of this meeting will be:
- Open discussion with the public regarding Zoning Ordinance Chapter 3, Section 3.30 Animals in Residential and Agricultural Districts within the City of Perry.
- The current ordinance does not allow chickens within any of the residential districts of the City. As a result of requests from a number of city residents that the ordinance be amended to allow for chickens in the city’s residential areas, the Ordinance Committee and City Council is seeking input from all residents to allow for the most informed response to this ordinance amendment request.
