Notice #1

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Public Accuracy Test for the August 6, 2024 Primary Election has been scheduled for Monday, July 15, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the Perry City Hall, 203 W. Polly St., Perry, Michigan in Council Chambers.

The Public Accuracy Test is conducted to demonstrate that the program and computer that will be used to tabulate the results of the election counts the votes in the manner prescribed by law.

There will be an Election Commission meeting on Monday, July 15, 2024, at 10:30 am at Perry City Hall, 203 W. Polly St., Perry, Michigan in Council Chambers.

Notice #3

City Hall, 203 W. Polly Street, Perry, will be open on SATURDAY, August 3rd from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and SUNDAY, August 4th from Noon to 4 pm. for the purpose of issuing and receiving Absent Voter BALLOTS for the election, which will be held on TUESDAY, August 6, 2024.

Nominating Petitions Available Now

NOMINATING PETITIONS ARE NOW AVAILABLE AT PERRY CITY HALL, 203 W. POLLY STREET FOR ANYONE INTERESTED IN RUNNING FOR THE FOLLOWING OFFICES:

3 Four-year terms for a COUNCIL SEAT, Term expiring Dec. 1, 2028

1 Two-year partial term for a COUNCIL SEAT, Term expiring Dec. 1, 2026

1 Two-year term for Mayor, Term expiring Dec. 1, 2026

Persons desiring to qualify as candidates for any elective office shall file a petition therefor with the City, signed by not less than fifteen nor more than thirty registered electors of the Clerk, not later than the date and time for the filing of nominating petitions for State and County offices. The form of the petition shall be substantially as that designated by the Secretary of State for the nomination of nonpartisan judicial officers. A supply of official petition forms shall be provided and maintained by the Clerk.

THE LAST DATE TO FILE PETITIONS IS TUESDAY, JULY 23, 2024,

4:00 P.M for the NOVEMBER 5, 2024 General.

Master Plan Public Review

The City of Perry Planning Commission is seeking public comment on the draft Master Plan, consistent with the provisions of the Michigan Planning Enabling Act, Act 33 of 2008, as amended (MPEA).  

The Perry City Council voted to approve this draft of the Master Plan on Thursday, May 16, 2024, and send the document into the required 63-day public comment period.

You may express your comments in the following ways:

-Submitting a Comment Online by using the form below.

-Sending written comments to Perry City Hall, 203 W Polly St., Perry, MI 48872.

-In-person at a Perry Planning Commission meeting. 

Regular meetings of the Planning Commission are held at Perry City Hall, 203 W Polly St., Perry, MI 48872 on the first Monday of each month at 7:00 pm in Council Chambers. 

As provided for in the MPEA, the review period is 63 days.  Thus, any comments regarding the proposed Master Plan will need to be received by Thursday, July 18, 2024. When the public comment period has closed, the Perry Planning Commission will consider any additional changes to the draft and then send it to City Council for adoption.

Notice of Public Hearing – 2024/2025 Proposed Budget

There will be a public hearing on the proposed 2024/2025 Budget of all City funds, with General Fund by activity number form and all other funds by revenues and expense totals.  The property tax millage rate proposed to be levied to support this proposed budget, will be a subject of this hearing.

The public hearing will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024, 7:10 pm at the Perry City Hall in Council Chambers, 203 W. Polly St., Perry.  Copies of the proposed budget are available at City Hall for inspection.
