Hire Notice: Ordinance Enforcement Officer

The City of Perry is seeking a part time Ordinance Enforcement Officer.

The Ordinance Enforcement Officer (OEO) responsibilities include conducting on-site inspections throughout the City to determine compliance with the City’s zoning and codified ordinances. The OEO investigates potential violations, follows established procedures of consequences and non-compliance. The OEO maintains related records, and performs other related duties.

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have valid Michigan driver’s license and skilled in standard office equipment. Preferred knowledge and understanding with the legal system and liability related to ordinance enforcement.

Hire Notice: DPW Laborer

The City of Perry Department of Public Works is seeking a full-time Maintenance Worker/Laborer.  This is an entry level position. Full-time benefits available. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and currently have a Class B CDL, or the ability to obtain within the first year of employment.  A CDL is required for this position. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. repetitively.

Physical and pre-employment drug tests will be required for hire. Salary $18.50 to $20.00 per hour, depending on experience. SATA Board Vacancy

The City is seeking a candidate to serve on the Shiawassee Area Transportation Authority (SATA) Board.  SATA is a county wide bus service of modest cost to riders. This position is filled by Mayoral Appointment.  Candidates must reside in the City of Perry.
 
Appointment is for a three-year term beginning October 2025 and ending October 2028.
 
The SATA Board meets at 6:00 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month.  The meetings are held at 180 N. Delaney Rd. Owosso. Mary Rice is the executive director and can be reached by calling (989) 729-2687 if you have questions or would like more information.

The City of Perry is soliciting quotes for labor and materials listed below.  This is for the new DPW Commercial Pole/Salt Storage Building, 200 Lamb St., Perry, Michigan.

  • 2 – 5’0” x 5’0” X42” deep frost- free slabs with reinforcement.
  • 1 – 16’0” x 20’0” x 6” thick slab with 3#’s per yd tough strand fiber mesh.
  • 1 – 20’0” x 60’0” x 6” thick slab with 3#’s per yd tough strand fiber mesh.
  • 4000# PSI.
  • All concrete sprayed with a concrete curing and hardening agent.
  • Minimum of 6” crushed concrete to be installed under both slabs.
  • Excess material may stay onsite.

Alternate:

  • Site prep.
  • 2 – 5’0” x 5’0” X42” deep frost- free slabs with reinforcement.
  • 1 – 16’0” x 20’0” x 6” thick slab with 3#’s per yd tough strand fiber mesh.
