City residents are billed monthly for water, sewer, trash and yard waste pick-up. As set forth by City Ordinance, the base fee is charged monthly regardless of occupancy or usage. Bills are mailed on or before the first of each month and Due by the 15th of the month regardless of the day of the week. After the 15th of the month, a 10% penalty is added to the balance.

A secure drop box is located outside the main doors on the west side of City Hall for customer convenience.

Trash

Weekly Trash Pickup

Trash removal is included with the monthly utility bill.  Trash is picked up every Friday, and should be placed at the curb before 6 a.m.  A change in the pick-up date is generally posted on this website, at City Hall, and on the City’s Facebook page.   Trash pick-up includes household wastes ONLY – NO yard waste and NO construction materials.

Click the image below to access more information about your WM service including schedule changes, reporting missed pick ups and scheduling bulk items.

Bulk Item Pick Up Clarification

City of Perry residents qualify for the pick-up of one bulk item per week, along with their standard cart service.

Examples of eligible bulk items are a tv, mattress, chair, exercise equipment, doors, car seats, rolled and secured carpet, broken appliances, etc.

Bags of trash and boxes are considered extra waste and must be placed inside your cart.

If a bulk item is too big for pick up by the standard truck on Friday, the driver will tag the item and alert WM to send a large item truck.  This truck will visit the city on THURSDAYS.

Scheduling of bulk items is NOT required, but residents may call city hall at 517-625-6155 OR WM 866-797-9018 to do so.  Items called in by NOON on Wednesday will be scheduled for pick up the same week.  Items left at the curb without scheduling will not be picked up until the following Thursday.

Trash Disposal Option

As an option of disposing of large items and/or large amounts of other trash, residents are welcome to take items to the Southwest Shiawassee Waste Center, 1470 West Britton Road, midway between Perry and Morrice. Commonly known as the “Transfer Station,” the disposal station is operated by the Village of Morrice.
