 Student Mayor Zachery Frent 
January 2018

ZACHERY FRENT (left), was appointed during the Thursday, Jan. 4, Perry City Council meeting as Student Mayor for the City of Perry,
an honorary role he will serve until Feb. 1, 2018.

  As Student Mayor, Frent will assist Mayor James Huguelet (right) with various ceremonial duties, which may include ribbon cutting ceremonies,
participating in parades and ceremonies and presentation of special recognitions/proclamations. She will also have a priority privilege to speak.

  A Perry High School senior, Frent is a two-year member of NHS (National Honor Society) and a four-year member, including two-years as
president, of the Student Council.

  He is also an accomplished runner and is a three-year member of the PHS Cross Country team, including one-year as captain as well as being a
four-year member of the track team.

  Frent also works as a tech assistant for the Perry Public Schools Tech Department.

  He has applied for enrollment into Michigan State University and Central Michigan University to pursue a career in computer science.
  Frent was presented a “Special Tribute” during the meeting by Mayor James Huguelet (right).

  Student Mayor Arena Warfle 
December 2017

 ARENA WARFLE (right), was appointed during the Thursday, Dec. 7, Perry City Council meeting as Student Mayor for the City of Perry,
an honorary role she will serve until Jan. 4, 2018.

  As Student Mayor, Warfle will assist Mayor James Huguelet (left) with various ceremonial duties, which may include ribbon cutting
ceremonies, participating  in parades and ceremonies and presentation of special recognitions/proclamations. She will also have a
priority privilege to speak.

  Warfle, a Perry High School senior, is a member of the National Honor Society (NHS), president of the National Art Honors Society
(NAHS), Top 10 Student of the Class of 2018; and treasurer of the
Shiawassee Regional Educational Service District (SRESD) Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA).

  She is also a 4-year varsity softball player and member of the 2017 team that won the district title as well as a 4-year member of Krash,
a travel softball team.

  Warfle, a 3-year varsity volleyball player, also served as senior captain for the team this year.

  She has been accepted to attend Grand Valley State University beginning in the fall of 2018 where she plans to major in nursing with
the ultimate goal of earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).

  Student Mayor Jason Taft 
November 2017


  JASON TAFT (left), was appointed during the Thursday, Nov. 2, Perry City Council meeting as Student Mayor for the City of Perry,
an honorary role he will serve until Dec. 7, 2017.

  As Student Mayor, Taft will assist Mayor James Huguelet (right) with various ceremonial duties, which may include ribbon cutting ceremonies,
participating in parades and ceremonies and presentation of special recognitions/proclamations.
He will also have a priority privilege to speak.

  Taft, a Perry High School senior, has been an all “A” student throughout high school and is among the Top 10 of the Class of 2018. He is also a
National Honor Society member and Shiawassee Scholar.

  He is an active band student currently serving as Trumpet Section Leader in the Marching Band and Pep Band during the basketball season.

  Taft has also been a member of the Science Olympiad for seven years as well as the Quiz Bowl team.

  Taft plans to further his education at Michigan State University, the University of Michigan or Kettering University to
pursue a career in engineering.

 Student Mayor Emily Darling 
October 2017

   EMILY DARLING (left), was appointed during the Thursday, Oct. 5, Perry City Council meeting as Student Mayor for the City of Perry,
an honorary role she will serve until Nov. 3, 2017.

  As Student Mayor, Darling will assist Mayor James Huguelet (right) with various ceremonial duties, which may include ribbon
cutting ceremonies,  participating in parades and ceremonies and presentation of special recognitions/proclamations.
She will also have a priority privilege to speak.

  As a Perry High School senior, Darling is a member of the National Honor Society, a Shiawassee Scholar and Honor Roll student.
She has been a member of the Perry Schools Band program since fifth grade, has been a Clarinet Section Leader for two years and currently
serves as the PHS band manager.

  Darling is Class Secretary for the graduating class of 2018, as well as working part time in the local hardware store. She also helps others
as a tutor and dedicates time as a volunteer.

  She says she is excited to attend college and hopes to attend the University of Michigan. She is also excited for the opportunities
that lie ahead of her.

  Darling admits she knows she is very passionate about the environment and helping others, which will help her choose a career.
